The touch screen of the V50 Pro is easy to use, and the user interface is very intuitive.But one of my favorite features of this camera is that it supports an external microphone. That was an issue with the cheaper AKASO cams – the recorded audio sounds a bit muffled, and you can’t really improve that. To be honest, voice activation for any product or call center rarely works for us – that Aussie accent of ours. I hate lugging around my DSLR to capture video, especially for our outdoor adventures. If I can capture good audio with this, I can leave it at home in many situations. The first thing to understand about the Akaso Brave 6 Plus is that it’s not just a camera; it’s a complete kit. As a result, you’re getting a lot more than just a camera. The main attraction is the underwater case. The case is fully transparent, and is hinged on one side for easy opening and closure. At the top of the case, three spring-loaded buttons allow you to operate your camera’s functions. You can zoom, change lens angles, and snap photos, all without opening the case. The case is rated to remain watertight down to 131 feet of depth. This is roughly equivalent to 40 meters, or the deepest depth typically reached by amateur scuba divers. and 90fps also support slow-motion recording, but they only slow the footage up to 2 times and 3 times respectively.

The company claims that this camera can record in native 4K resolution among many other improved specs. Compared to other action cameras in this price range, the build feels more premium even though it is made from plastic. Touchscreen On the left side there is a USB C charging port and the HDMI output. On the right we have a little plastic door that can be opened so you can access the 1350mAh battery and SD card. It is important to note that there is no external microphone included in the box, you will have to buy one separately if you intend on boosting your audio experience.

To active the front screen, the M button on top needs to be held down for a couple of seconds before the rear screen goes blank and the front screen springs to life in full colour. Reducing the resolution to 1080p 30fps and again the footage is good, with the ability to upsample the footage comfortably to 2K without noticing the effect too much.

I have always used this mode in my trips and activities and I am happy to see it included in this camera also.Akaso is a company that gives GoPro a run for their time and money, with the former producing more budget-friendly cams that perform well for the average user. The voice controls were disappointing, even in a quiet office they were hit-and-miss. On the other hand, the included remote was perfect every time. You can easily start/stop video or take pictures with it, and there’s an accessory to strap it to your wrist. The Akaso DV app is a bit buggy and can freeze from time to time, hopefully a software update can be released soon to fix these issues. A surprise for a camera at this price is the voice commands. These enable you to start and stop recording and take pictures, although there are only six commands at present. Unlike some other similar quality action cameras, the Brave 6 comes with a 2.4Ghz remote control wrist band that uses bluetooth to connect to the camera.
