With nearly three months to go until Christmas, Quality Street said it decided to introduce the new flavour to meet consumer demand. The new variety becomes the brand’s 12th flavour after one of the toffee flavours was discontinued last year. The couple on the Quality Street tin are known as The Major and Miss. Their real names are Phoebe Throssel and Valentine Brown who are characters from a play called Quality Street. Prepare for a cosmic collision: The Purple One and the Green Triangle fuse in a new chocolate bar sensation.

Toffee Deluxe (replaced by Honeycomb Crunch, reintroduced and then replaced by Chocolate Caramel Brownie) Unsurprisingly, given that the brand has been around for the best part of 85 years, there have been many flavours that had to be sacrificed to make way for the current crop. Heroes, of course, have been around for nowhere near as long as Cadbury's other selection though they now feel like they have been available for a long, long time.Harriet Canby, 30, a surveyor from south-west London, nodded approvingly as she tasted the sweet, but said she was usually more of a Celebrations person. She said white chocolate, which she associates with children’s chocolates like Milky Bars, can be a “love-hate” flavour for people. But she said the new Quality Street was delicious. “Really good. I like the crunchy centre.” Perhaps predictably, the only complaint came from a dental hygienist. Sairan Fattah, 49, from Tottenham, said she liked the “crunchy milky nice flavour”, but that she found it “a little too sweet”. The Purple One" (previously known as Hazel in Caramel) – Milk Chocolate filled with hazelnut and caramel (purple wrapper)

Onto the box that led to the development of Heroes - Celebrations launched two years prior to the Cadbury equivalent. Introducing the Quality Street Collisions sharing bar, boasting three layers of textured deliciousness. Each bite offers indulgent caramel, a smooth hazelnut filling, and delightfully crunchy hazelnut pieces. Quality Street was named after a play of the same name that was written by J.M. Barrie (who also wrote Peter Pan). To illustrate the differences between the two eras of selection boxes, Roses, like Quality Street, had their flavours specifically made and wrapped in coloured foil compared to Celebrations and Heroes later using brands that already existed. The Purple One is shaped like a Brazil nut shell because it used to contain a Brazil nut, but was replaced with a hazelnut as they became more popular.

Samantha Hirst, Brand Manager for Quality Street at Nestlé UK and Ireland, said: “We’re sure that Quality Street fans will love the fact that two favourites have been brought together to make a triple-layered treat that’s perfect for gifting or sharing with family and friends.”

For Scotland, 2011 data is shown (update coming soon, the Scottish census was delayed by a year unlike the rest of the UK). The 235g Quality Street Collisions sharing bar is the first flavour collision and the third addition to the Quality Street sharing bar range. In China Quality Street is a wedding sweet and is given out at wedding receptions instead of at Christmas.

We all love foraging through the iconic purple tub at Christmas to find our favourite Quality Street sweet, usually to find they’ve been all gobbled up, but what do we actually know about these delicious treats? The information on housing, people, culture, employment and education that is displayed about Hazel Street, Jarrow, NE32 5LB is based on the last census performed in the UK in 2021. The sweets within the box have changed and evolved over the years. As of September 2019, there are 15 flavours (including the Fruit Cremes box exclusive, John Lewis exclusive, and Matchmakers) of the individually wrapped sweets, all of which are either chocolate or toffee based, as follows: Quality Street Collisions sharing bar is now available exclusively in Asda and will roll out to supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide later this month.Like Heroes, they comprises miniature versions of the chocolate brands owned by the manufacturer - Mars.
