If the screen has drifted or isn't central to your vision, hold down the Options button and it will re-center itself. You'll find yourself doing this a lot during play. Clean the PSVR lenses. They're going to get dirty, no matter how hard you try to keep them clean. Clean them with a microfiber cloth. Don't use anything wet or abrasive---you don't want to damage the lenses or coating. Good headset fit is crucial. Use the adjustment mechanism to ensure the headset fits snugly without clamping too hard. Reposition it if the image is blurry. Adjust the scope position by carefully holding it around the edges and wiggling it until it’s comfortable and the image is as clear as possible. Hold the headset by the headband (A), not the scope (the bit with the blue lights), press the headband release button (E) and pull the front section forward.

The best distance between player and camera is around 2 meters / 6ft. Adjust your position if necessary. For everyone else, it's tough to recommend the PlayStation Camera. The Playroom is a minor distraction that you probably won't spend much time with, and the games with Camera integration are both slim and underwhelming. Having the system log you in automatically by facial recognition is neat, but if you're the only user on your PS4 it's a moot point. We recommend adjusting the screen for each game you play, and you'll need to do it if you're swapping the headset between players. Make sure you do the following for maximum comfort and optimal picture quality, and if you come across any distortion or interference with the screen. We know you’re excited to get playing, but it’s really important to take your time with configuration to get the best possible gaming experience.

Thrilling PS VR games and experiences

Clear your play area. This is particularly important if the space you have isn't large. Move any lamps, vases, or other breakables within striking distance and make sure there isn't anything near your feet. When you wear the headset, you lose visibility of your surroundings, so you will hit or trip over things if they're too close. If you’re still having problems adjusting the camera this could be because the room lighting is too bright. Find out how to set up your room for the best experience and try again.

Plug the headset directly into the VR processor unit. If this fixes the problem then there's an issue with the VR connection cable. Make sure it's not tangled or crooked. If the problem persists you may need to replace it.Place the PS Camera about 1.4m (4’7”) high and about 2m (6’) away from where you will be sitting or standing.

Manually set the interpupillary distance (IPD) if things are still blurry. Go to Settings > Devices > PlayStation VR > Measure Eye-to-Eye Distance and follow the instructions. If you and the controllers were not in the centre of the screen when you hit ‘Continue’ or if more than one person was in the Play Area, you may need to repeat step 3. Tighten the headband using the adjustment dial (D) just enough to stop movement, but not so far that it feels too tight. Hold the headset by the top of the headband (A), press the headband release button (E) and pull the front section forward.
