Author goes further and further in time developing the stories around humans working to expand the empire, discover the universe and its history, reaching the end of science while trying to understand humanity. Either a whole society is subject to the dictates of one mad ruler who imposes their vision on the whole, or the society is self-driven and strives after its own ends individually, among the whole.

The powerful feelings of wonder and mystery explored here have quite literally inspired me to jump on this opportunity. The new site has been transformed into an interactive mode wherein people can sign in regardless of religion, race, culture, or ideology but who believe in the Gnostic significance. never rly delved into science fiction before this book, but it was a good entryway into sci-fi themes and philosophy. But more than that, Exurb1a brought up some really interesting concepts surrounding consciousness and artificial intelligence.

And when it's perfect, when they've built the perfect home and everything's just right, do you know what they do? personally i think i prefer books that have both content AND a writing style that carries me in its current and leaves me actually excited to reach for the book and turn the next page. And “long-term” doesn’t mean decades or centuries; it means hundreds of thousands of years, more on the scale of Asimov’s Foundation trilogy say. Exurbia's relationship with language as a tool has always been able to convey that powerful sense of wonder that exists in the intersection of consciousness as an "oh my god I'm alive and I don't know how or why" moment and fully realizing the beauty of the universe and futurism at the same time.

And when you do, I'd like you to spare a moment to consider the almost infinite chain of ancestry that stretches behind you, and the almost infinite chain of descendancy that stretches ahead; the thousands and thousands of ancestors who were kind enough to hand you their genes and the thousands and thousands of descendents who will one day — perhaps — inherit yours.
